Philippe Vedrenne joined Gaz de France in 1997 and in 2001 he was instrumental in setting up the trading joint venture Gaselys between Gaz de France and Société Générale. In 2005 he was appointed Deputy CEO of Gaselys. In 2010 he took part in the merger of the trading activities of Gaz de France and Electrabel. Three years later he was appointed to a Director within GDF SUEZ to oversee all Gas & Power counterparty-related activities in Europe on wholesale markets. At the beginning of 2016, he was appointed Director of Gas Supply & Asset Management within the new Global Energy Management unit of GDF SUEZ, now ENGIE, in charge of gas supply and portfolio optimization for Europe. At the same time he holds the position of CEO of ENGIE Global markets.
