Why Gas Now Belongs at the Centre of the Energy Policy Agenda

Session Time: 14:30 - 16:00

Post-Fukushima, energy policy in Europe has been transformed with the cessation of the development and eventual phasing out of nuclear power in Germany. The ramifications for gas are therefore huge, and the debate for Europe’s leaders will now be to examine how European gas leaders and informed policy makers best secure an optimal place for gas in the long-term future energy mix. What can the gas industry learn, for example, from successful lobbyists working for the coal and renewables industries?
