Paul Corcoran
Finance Director, Nord Stream AG
Biography
Paul Corcoran is the Financial Director of the Nord Stream AG (initially established as
North European Gas Pipeline Company – NEGP, the name changed to Nord Stream in
October 2006). He joined Nord Stream in October 2006.
Nord Stream AG is an international joint venture established for the planning,
construction and subsequent operation of the new offshore gas pipeline through the
Baltic Sea. Russian OAO Gazprom holds a 51 percent stake in the joint venture. The
German companies BASF SE/Wintershall Holding GmbH and E.ON Ruhrgas AG hold
15.5 percent each, and the Dutch gas infrastructure company N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie
and the French energy company GDF SUEZ S.A. each hold a 9 percent stake.
Paul Corcoran was born in Warrington, England, in 1960. He holds a degree in Civil
Engineering at Liverpool University and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountant.
After 2 years working as a civil engineer, Paul Corcoran changed to finance and worked
for 5 years with STC Telecommunications.
Since 1988, Paul Corcoran has worked within the BASF Group in Finance, Accounting
and Controlling. In the UK, he worked with BASF PLC, in Germany at BASF AG,
Ludwigshafen and in Belgium as Finance Director with BASF Antwerpen NW.
Since 2002, Paul Corcoran has worked as Finance Director at Wintershall AG, Germany.
Wintershall is the Oil & Gas subsidiary of BASF AG.
